What's Latin for Love?

"What's more elemental than LOVE?

As you can see, Love's atomic number is 01 (One Love), and its weight is 143.143 (the number of letters in each of the words: I love you, I love you). At the right are the unicode numbers used to create a heart (U + 2665).

This super soft, 100% cotton Jerzee's grey tee is hand screenprinted with black ink. Soft, water-based inks were used in the printing of this tee. The perfect gift for the love of your life!"

Appropriate attire for baking Pi

"It is a well-known fact that pi was as celebrated in Victorian times as it is today. Once it was discovered that the earth was, in fact, round, men, women and children alike were anxious to use pi to determine the circumference of the planet.

Just kidding.

This apron is made out of an off-white cotton with a blue print. It's Victorian in nature and, according to Wikipedia, is referred to as a toile print. The apron has two pockets and onto one of them I have stitched a blue fleece heart and a white felt pi. Victorians and pi, together at last."

Are You Afraid of the Dark?

"The era of the floppy disk has come and gone, and the floppy is now dying a slow death to join the realm of VHS tapes, Vinyl records and even 35mm film.

These floppies have found a second chance at life in the form of an awesome night light! This geekey light is powered by a pair of AAA batteries (which are included) and creates a wonderful glow using three white LED's. LED lights are cool to the touch and have approximately a 100,000 hour life span.

The lid on the top of the box opens to allow more light to escape the box for a brighter glow. (see image #3) and also easy changing of the batteries. There is also a simple toggle switch on the back of the box to turn the lights on or off.

Makes a great gift for that special geek in your life.

* Batteries are included!"

So that's what's in your journal!

"Remember looking at slides in old school microscopes? That was awesome! This microscope is rather subtle, the black paint meshing well against the dark antique 1909 book.

I screen printed the microscope image onto the original antique book cover, making a bland, boring cover full of science!

The upcycled journal is made from the original vintage book cover and back. The hardbound front and back make it sturdy and dependable. Inside there are 55 blank sheets as well at 15 pages of the original book interspersed.

An Upcycled Journal makes a wonderful treat for yourself or a unique present for that vintage lover in your life.

The Run-Down:
- one of a kind vintage book used
- screen printed microscope image
- 55 blank sheets and 15 original pages
- 5in x 7.5in or 12.7cm x 19.1cm
- sturdy black wiring"

Upcycled/Recycled Pasta Bowl - I rescued this poor dish from a lifetime of blah-ness. It's a commercial piece, originally plain white, but I've added a custom decal from my collection.

Shallow dish perfect for single serving of pasta, or as a accent piece in the home. Shape is squarish/roundish, with a circular base.

Colors are fresh and bright for Spring: blue, light blue, green, sage, orange and tawny yellow.

Custom decal from an old Optometrist's test to check for color-blindness. Can you see the wavy line of orange and yellow dots running through the blue and green spots? If not, then you are color blind!"

Check your Connection

"Much of my work is made from materials taken from expired computers. I remake technology into new objects and organic shapes. Each piece is selected carefully for it's pattern, cut and cleaned of elements and then polished. The results are truly beautiful and unique.

The design of the necklace is in curving lines with a tulip flower and leaf. It's construction is from a green mother board, copper, and silver plated brass findings. The piece is light with a touch of victorian design blended with modern style. clasp and findings are a matching copper tone with a copper mesh ribbon in place of chain. A swarovski crystal briolette dangles from the center of the design"

Internet upgrade?

"Bold bits of ethernet sheathing clustered together make fabulous hoop earrings. These hoops have transformed everyday tech into terrific fashion through saturated dying, clever cutting and unique composition.

*The color of these earrings will vary noticeably in different lights. These photographs were taken in natural light. When seen under incandescent light they appear slightly more mauve.

This collection is inspired by my uber-tech hubby. In his technology job he is constantly discarding cables as upgrades are made to the system. Because he knows I am the local recycled art diva, he saves me bits and pieces for both myself and the students I teach."

Standard Deviation

"“Normally this wouldn’t be a problem.” Tim “Magic” Markers, School Spirit captain, announced on the bus. The bus contained the Tri-County High Spirit Team. And that bus was on its way to the local Spirit Team “Spirit-Off”.

Tim just found out that the team’s compulsory “flair element” was left in the prep room back at school, and since Tim had not gotten much sleep last night he totally spaced bringing the back-ups like he always does.

“Don’t panic!” Tim shouts, panicking. Tim knew they couldn’t beat Darkmoore High if points deducted from not having their flair. Heck, flair was what Tim was known for. And losing to Darkmoore High School for the Evil and Misguided would just be awful.

“Does anyone here have any small, cute, school colored items?” The impending doom in his voice is what the low point of teen girls movies are made of.

“I have these.” A voice from the back of the bus says.

*Camera pan to Olivia*

Olivia, the nerdy girl on the team who always is one step behind and who only made the trip to the competition because popular girl, Jace, broke her leg in the final practice. Olivia stands up and holds Mini Normal Plushies in school colors. “I always have these with for good luck on tests.”

“How many do you have?” Tim asks with unnecessary pause and drama added.

Olivia counts quickly, “I have 12.”

Tim shouts “That is enough! You saved the Spirit Team!”

The bus erupts in cheers of joy, and the audience knows that Olivia has “made it” and will be accepted as a part of the team.

And how did the team do? Well some movie critics would call the ending “the most stereotypical, cheesy, and anticlimactic in teen girl movie history.”

Chalk one up for the good guys, all thanks to lazy screen writers and the Mini Normal Distribution in colors of your choice."

I admit it....I have 6 fillings!

"These alphabet teeth were plucked from an 1866 version of The Household Physician. The book offers medical tips and terminology for families and farmers - travelers and seamen.

"The four front teeth in each jaw, A & B, are the cutting teeth (incisors); the next one, C, is an eye tooth (cuspid); the next two, D & E, are small grinders (bicuspids); the last three teeth, F, G & H, are grinders (molars). One appears late on each side, from the age of twenty to twenty-four, and is called wisdom tooth."

This is a 5"h x 7"w reproduction print adapted from the original engraving.

Children's book? Not any more!

"A macabre mash-up of the children’s classic Pat the Bunny and the present-day zombie phenomenon, with the tactile features of the original book revoltingly re-imagined for an adult audience.

In the hemorrhagic vein of other zombie parodies, Pat the Zombie presents trusting toddler Judy playing peek-a-boo with a putrefying Paul. Grownup fans of Pat the Bunny (seven million of them) will find their favorite touch-and-feel features disturbingly re-created: Judy reaches for Zombie’s decaying jaw instead of daddy’s cheek; Paul caresses Mummy’s empty eye socket instead of her wedding ring. Ximm’s twisted wit, Soofi’s sick artistic sensibility, and clever packaging that mimics the original book will bring the undead lurchingly to life in this camp popculture romp."

"GLOWS IN THE DARK!

Named for the luminescent element, this soap emits a ghostly green glow when the lights go out. Radioactive "caution" label on the front.
