Chemical Cooking

"Please see the welcome message at the top of my shop for an updated turnaround time. My standard turnaround time is between 3-4 weeks. If you need something sooner, I can do that by rushing the fabric, but it requires a $20 or $30 fee depending on when you need it.

All of my skirts are made in a FULL skirt style with an exposed elastic waistband. I have listings with skirts that look a little different. That's because they are skirts made for small waists that don't have a petticoat underneath (the smaller the waist, the less fullness and vice versa). The skirts will all be made full, but they are only poofy/round with a petticoat underneath it. They look great with or without a petticoat (I personally don't wear one under my skirts, but I also wear my skirts every day). Petticoats can be found online or in any costume shop.

Skirts can also be worn wherever you'd like on your waist. I have customers wear them high, mid, and low. I wear mine at my belly button, but it is just personal preference. Please take that into consideration when deciding on sizing. The point of an elastic, full skirt is that it offers the wearer so many options in terms of wear."

Periodic Table - Round 1

"Prior to the modern depiction of the Periodic Table, Dmitri Mendeleev came up with his version that was published in 1869. I have placed this table against a light brown and gold background.

Each of my plated stainless steel cuffs are designed, decoupaged, sealed, and polished by me. The nature of this material means that you can see some of the beautiful metal underneath the image, including the natural variations in color which add a unique element to each and every piece. Each cuff is sealed with jewelers film and polished with museum quality wax, however, I still recommend not wearing it while doing any rigorous activity. To clean, simply lightly dampen a clean cloth and wipe the part of the surface that needs cleaning, being careful to rid of all water when done.

Again, please be aware that although I do everything I can to seal the image well so that is protects against light wear and tear, it is still hand decoupaged on the metal and not sublimated with a machine, so it can be scratched if hit hard enough against an object. Hand decoupaging allows me to use much higher quality and heavy gauged metal than if done by machine, which feels very nicely weighted on the wrist.

Each cuff is 1.5 inches in height and 6 inches wide and can be bent with slight pressure to fit snugly on your wrist. This means it will fit most wrist from 5.5" to 7.5". Gem Art

"Atoms and Elements by Hans Erni.

Hans Erni, born in 1909 is still very much alive today, He's a Swiss painter, sculptor and designer who is best known for his illustrative postage stamps. Among his designs are stamps for the 250th anniversary of the principality of Liechtenstein, issues for the Winter Olympics in Sapporo, Japan and the Summer Olympics in Munich.

Here's a very cool futuristic print is boldly printed in red, black and blue with accents of turquoise and white. It's in wonderful smooth condition; done on heavy quality semi-gloss paper stock. It's printed with related text on the reverse side, but not to worry.. nothing shows through to the face.

"Stained Glass Trilobite Panel Window Made to order. Allow 4-8 weeks

Trilobites are a well-known fossil group of extinct marine arthropods that form the class Trilobita. The first appearance of trilobites in the fossil record is in the Early Cambrian period (526 million years ago), and they flourished throughout Paleozoic Trilobites finally disappeared in the mass extinction at the end of the Permian about 250 million years ago. The trilobites were among the most successful of all early animals, roaming the oceans for over 270 million years.
This one is made with a highly textured rippled glass of blue with purple streaks and swims across a yellow 'glue-chip" sea.

approx. 8 x 12 1/4". Copper foiled stained glass panel, black patina, and zinc frame. Ready to hang with a sturdy chain.

Fossil around my neck

"Coordinating shades of black, hematite and fine silver coated copper wire make a subtle variegated frame for an orthoceras fossil in this sleek pendant.

The orthoceras has clear, dark delineations and the chambers are a dove gray with an interesting textured patterning. The wire colors were chosen to set off the shape of the fossil and chambers, as well as to add a little brightness without detracting from the striking fossil.

A faceted wine colored garnet peeps out from the top of the fossil, discreetly adding an occasional striking flash of red when the light catches it.

Orthoceras were ancient mollusks. They first emerged nearly 500 million years ago and went extinct nearly 200 million years ago, when dinosaurs were just getting started. They're older cousins of the beautiful spiral shelled ammonites. (To give a vague sense of time here-they're older to most of the dinosaurs than the dinosaurs are to us.)

It's fun how somethng so ancient can look so modern.

The pendant is just over 2 1/2" long by 3/4" at its widest. It comes on a black satin and sheer organza striped ribbon. Clasped it is just over 19" long.

"Ammonites are cephalopods that went extinct with the dinosaurs and are one of the most abundant fossils found today. Their varying shapes and sizes have been used by paleontologists as index fossils to help give reference ages to rock units or other fossils.

Classy Chemistry

"Maria S.C. chandelier is made from laboratory test tubes, set in two plywood bands. This surprising material and geometric shape makes this lamp both classic and innovative. The double glass cylinder recalls Art Deco forms in a unique contemporary way. The use of ready-made objects gives an appearance with a Duchamp idea. The lamp is inspired by the Polish scientist, Maria Sklodowska-Curie, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. The tubes are detachable and the lamp provides the opportunity for visual experiment by creating a variety of configurations and flower arrangements.

To arrange the rainbow, we have used food colouring powder (3 basic colors: red, blue, yellow) and mixed it in different proportions. Food powders are easy to remove, they do not color of glass permanently."

It has a dinosaur that says 'Oh Crap' and has a meteor shower at the top of the bookmark.

It is 10cm by 2.5cm and is made from 1mm thick aluminium.
